Little Italy- 523 St. Anthony Street. This hidden Instagram-worthy rooftop patio bar is finally open and it has some of the best views of Little Italy (if you can find it)! La Terrazza is an intimate speakeasy-style outdoor bar that serves up all of your favourite cocktails. They even have a whole section on their menu devoted just to Aperol! Remember…follow the lily.
2. Oh My Burger
ByWard Market- 374 Dalhousie Street. Oh my indeed! ByWard Market’s newest burger joint has quickly gained popularity with its experimental topping combos, stuffed patty’s, and carnival-style desserts. Although they faced inevitable barriers in the wake of the pandemic, their collective 45 years of restaurant experience has allowed them to expertly power through and put themselves on the map. Their menu is really extensive and certainly does not stop at just burgers. Stuffed Pizza Burgers, Portobello Mushroom Caps, and the S’Mores Belgium Waffle Ice Cream Sandwiches are just a few that are sure to spark curiosity.
3. Aiana
Centretown- 50 O’Connor Street. It’s not just a restaurant…it’s an experience. They’re a quick bite takeout and service counter-style restaurant located in lovely Westboro. Their extensive menu is loaded with nothing but fresh, Asian inspired dishes ready for you to chow down on or grab-and-go. From sushi tacos to bao’s, the level of freshness and quality of ingredients does not go unnoticed. 6. Adas Bekdash
Ice cream…one of the most beloved treats in the world. Family-run Adas Bekdash has graced Ottawa’s presence with one of the city’s first Syrian-style ice cream spots. This creamy frozen treat is first packed with flavours, then rolled into a neat log, and finally topped with fresh pistachio crumble. Their portions are large and are perfect for a get-together or even as a gift! Beat the heat and support local with a slice of Bekdash.
