Where: Ottawa City Hall in Centretown.

Planning: This rink is open daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Also, washrooms and parking are located on-site,. However, skate rentals are not available.

Just like it sounds, Brewery Creek Rink is situated in the heart of Gatineau and is near (you guessed it) a ton of awesome breweries! This massive rink offers something for every type of skater with its leisure space and sections reserved for hockey. Lansdowne Park Outdoor Rink: Steps from the Christmas Market.

Where: At Lansdowne Park in the Glebe.

Planning: This rink is open daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Also, be sure to bring your own skates as they do not offer rentals on-site. However, underground on-site parking at TD Place as well as nearby street parking is available.

Best visited near the holidays, this outdoor refrigerated rink is located right in the hustle and bustle of Ottawa’s annual Christmas Market. Planning: This rink is open daily (holidays may vary). Also, skate rentals are not available but there is a heritage building on-site that can be used for bag storage and a quick warm-up. Nearby street parking is also available.

One of the most underrated and beautiful Ottawa skating spots is Rideau Hall. Originally built in 1872, the Rideau Hall skating rink has been a long-standing Ottawa skating tradition for decades. Deemed solely for leisure skating (no pucks allowed), this rink is always a home run for historic views in a relaxing atmosphere.


Ben Franklin Ottawa Skating Rink

Where: 101 Centrepointe Drive in Nepean.

Planning: Skate rentals are not available. However, a heated change facility is offered on-site. Also, on-site and nearby street parking is available.

If you’re looking for a hassle-free Ottawa skating spot, consider heading to the ‘burbs. This rink is located just steps from Nepean’s public library. This rink is also equipped with all of the conveniences: on-site parking, changing facilities, and washrooms. A perfectly easy skating spot for families, friends, and solo skaters alike!


Champlain Park

Where: 121 Keyworth Avenue besides Tunney’s Pasture.

Planning: This non-refrigerated rink is managed by volunteers. Also, skate rentals are not available on-site. Nearby street parking is available and it is easily accessible by public transit (located just 10 minutes from Tunney’s Pasture). You can view the rinks latest updates here.

Another great option for a quaint skate is at Champlain Park. Nestled just above Wellington Village, you can also easily make a day or evening of your visit by visiting the many nearby shops, bars, and restaurants.
